Venice with Gabrieli Consort, November 2008: A trip to sing the Monteverdi Vespers in the 'Chiesa del Redentore' by the Giudecca Canal. The first day was damp and overcast, but the morning of our departure was bathed in a glorious golden light, while the rising water threatened to bathe St. Mark's itself in a less metaphorical way - which it soon did, causing the highest flooding for over twenty years...
